Cortical.io is a young entrepreneurial company focusing on Natural Language Understanding (NLU). We use our patented technology in combination with sophisticated Artificial Intelligence (AI) approaches to address problems others have failed to solve. Over the last couple of years, we have built an impressive client portfolio of global Fortune 500 companies. At this point, we are looking for a DevOps Engineer with first work experience to join our developer team at our headquarters in Vienna.

Basic requirements

• Good working proficiency in written and spoken English
• European Union citizenship or authorization to work in Austria

What you’ll be working on

• Improving existing strategies of continuous integration and delivery
• Managing availability, scalability, and reliability of production services
• Supporting the development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of our software
• Analyzing and improving our services and processes, including our release processes
• Maintaining our cloud infrastructure architecture
• Other infrastructure maintenance and support tasks

What you must have

• 2+ years experience as a DevOps Engineer
• Experience with
  • Cloud-based deployments, with a preference for the Amazon Web Services stack
  • Setting up, enhancing and maintaining continuous integration processes and tools (Jenkins, Nexus, Sonar or similar)
  • Docker, docker-compose and micro-services architecture in general
  • Automation and configuration management tools (for example Ansible)
  • Scripting languages (for example, Bash, Ruby, Python)
• Basic experience with one or more general purpose programming languages (for example, Java, Scala, C/C++, C#)
• Good understanding of the mechanisms behind build tools (such as Maven), Git and Github
• Interest in, and ability to learn, new technologies and methodologies
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions

It would be great if you also had experience with

• Cloud and software security
• Management of SQL and No-SQL databases
• Cloud-based containers orchestration and distributed deployments
• Frameworks monitoring (g. Prometheus, Grafana)
• Product release cycles
• Managing availability, scalability, and reliability of production services
• Working in a startup environment

We offer minimum salary of € 3.048,- per month (in accordance with the collective agreement) but provide a market-compliant higher salary depending on qualifications and experience.
